What I believe, hope, and drive for

My ‘Make Manifesto’ is a forward-looking statement of eight (8) principles* that shapes how I operate.

*As with everything, even principles are subject to change and develop over time, as we as people also do.

Make together.

Great things happen when we bring different people and work together. We have a responsibility to champion and advocate for diversity and inclusion of people; genders, cultures, thoughts and expression.

Make better.

Help shape those behind you, like those in-front have helped you. Open doors for others by supporting and enabling continuous growth and development in skillset and mindset, sharing knowledge, and providing opportunity, connection and perspective.

Make space.

Empower teams to do good work by creating and fostering physically and psychologically safe spaces that allow quiet voices and different thoughts to say and do brave things.

Make human.

Solve meaningful problems with purpose by ensuring teams understand the human impact they are making, whether it’s customer, user, employee, or community.

Make open.

Information and knowledge helps people make better, more informed decisions. We owe it to ourselves and everybody around us to be transparent and open about what is happening, and how we are feeling.

Make whole.

Recognise, understand and design for the complexity of the greater system and how different parts interact and affect each other - from culture, to structure, to people and process.

Make impact.

We have a responsibility to break the cycle; challenge the status-quo and subvert the norm that has been built to maintain mediocrity in people, community, organisations and society. Create change by cultivating a culture of creativity and curiosity, and asking why – a lot.

Make fun.

Take your work – output and outcomes – seriously, but not yourself. Enjoy what you do and who you do it with.
